Our favorite resort to stay at in Scottsdale is hands down Fairmont Princess. We’ve stayed here a couple times before for the Waste Management golf tournament, but this past weekend was for a different occasion. Well now with a baby in the picture, things are different, and I mean that in the best possible way.

Why do I love Fairmont Scottsdale Princess so much? First they have so much to offer! Six pools, two championship golf courses, an amazing spa, various restaurants, and grand seasonal events. They’re super kid friendly and I can’t get enough of the Spanish architecture and modern hacienda style.

It’s so funny when I go on vacation because I overpack every single time. I could be going one night and I’d still pack a near 50 lb. suitcase. My partner is the same way. And funnily enough, we both end up just rewearing the same two or three outfits the entire weekend.
My favorite restaurant at the resort is hands down La Hacienda, and not because it’s a Mexican restaurant. I am OBSESSED with their warm oven-baked tortilla chips and their handmade guacamole. Don’t forget to check out the huge tortoise next door! He loves watermelon.

If you’re looking to experience a nice getaway where you don’t even have to leave the resort and you have kids, this is the place to go. Why? Because they host themed events in the summer. This year it was all about space. I think 85% of the guests there had kids. You can book your outta-this-world experience here.
We spent most of the weekend just hopping from pool to pool. My favorite was the Princess pool. We ended up renting a cabana which worked out well for getting much needed shade from the dessert sun. Since it was Memorial Day weekend, the place was packed.

I’m still an early riser even on vacation so most mornings I found myself doing a lot of reflecting or grabbing breakfast as soon as Ironwood opened at 7am. We had vouchers to use towards that restaurant as part of Fairmont Gold suite guests. Our friends decided to meet us in Scottsdale so that made the trip even more worthwhile. My wish is to show Zara Rose the world, and we’re starting places close to home. She tolerates the three hour flights well. Next on my radar is somewhere sandy or the east coast. ‘Till next time!
